There can be solar tax credits and incentives available at the federal, state and local levels. The calculator above will show you the value of all incentives your home is eligible for.
Oklahoma has some work to do to start paving a path to a cleaner energy future. With no renewable portfolio standard (RPS) in sight, there is no motivation for utility companies to comply with clean energy laws, and no offers from them to help you install solar panels on your roof. We urge anyone who cares about being part of a cleaner energy future to demand more from your state representatives.
On this page, we cover all of the solar and battery incentives, rebates and tax credits available for your Oklahoma home. We also encourage you to use the Oklahoma solar calculator above. It allows you to drill down and show only your roof and computes a savings estimate customized to how much sun you get where you live.

Find out how much these incentives and/or Oklahoma solar tax credits will reduce your cost to go solar and add batteries
The federal solar investment tax credit will have the biggest impact on the cost you will face to go solar in Oklahoma
If you install your photovoltaic system before the end of 2032, the federal tax credit is 30% of the cost of your solar panel system. This is 30% off the entire cost of the system including equipment, labor, and permitting.
Example: If your solar energy system costs $20,000, your federal solar tax credit would be $20,000 x 30% = $6,000.
The federal tax credit falls to 26% starting in 2033.
With net metering in some states, you get full retail rate credit for the amount of electricity you send back into the grid with your solar panels.
Net Metering requires your utility to monitor how much energy your solar power system produces and how much energy you actually consume to make sure you get credit for the surplus.
Oklahoma requires investor-owned utilities and electric cooperatives to offer net metering to all customers. All systems up to 100kW are eligible, and energy in excess of the total monthly on-site usage is credited to the customer's account at the avoided cost (around 2 to 3 cents per kWh).
While that sounds like pretty solid language, overall Oklahoma’s net metering is not strong, because the utility companies are not actually required to purchase your excess electricity generation. Customers can request that their utility purchase excess generation, but the decision ultimately rests with the company, not the customer.
While Oklahoma does not have a dedicated state rebate for solar panel installation, some manufacturers like LG offer their own solar rebates. These programs are usually time sensitive. For example, LG offers a $600 solar rebate on their equipment, which your installer can help you redeem over the next year.

My daughter referred a delightful solar advisor Mark Heiliger to us, Mark came to our home we were very impressed by his professionalism, knowledge of the solar system, he showed us a graph with the placements of the solar panels and explained how it works. He explained how solar would benefit us and answered all our questions and concerns. Mark also came back out to our home and helped us download and sign up on the app, so we can see what the solar panels are producing, we have been very excited and pleased, our panels are producing more power than we have consumed. Mark did an excellent job and has checked in on us to make sure we are pleased. Our project coordinator Jackson Winn made sure we got emails on our different phases getting permits for our system and helped us through the process. He was very helpful, professional and was available for any questions. Our installer Sage and his team along with the David the electrician also did an excellent job installing our panels. They were very organized, polite and was willing to answer my husbands questions. They are a local company and definitely strive for excellence. The whole process only took 6 weeks to be up and running.

I first met with Bryan, who did a great job answering all of my questions. I had more questions after the fact, and he was very responsive, one time even recording a video of himself answering the questions. The install crew was professional and did a great job. No issues there. I did have one small problem that took a few months to resolve. One of the panels wasn't outputting quite as much as the rest. But they were able to get the problem resolved. It was an issue with one of the inverters. They worked with enphase on my behalf to get it fixed. I haven't had any issues since then. Overall, couldn't be happier! This is a quality company in an otherwise fairly scammy industry.

We moved here in May of 2015. We bought a nice property that needed updating. So we did a full upgrade of the entire property. The main house is roughly 3,000 sq ft. and the guest house is 1000 sq ft. Our first energy bill was over 600 dollars. We decided to do some research on alternate energy sources. We contacted numerous Solar companies, and chose Delta Energy. From our first conversation we knew this was the company for us. The most professional people I have dealt with in a long time. They installed my system in only three days;was supposed to have taken six days. Now my energy bills are around 250.00 every month, and it is steadily going down. They come highly recommended from us. We are very satisfied...

I compared a half dozen quotes, and Radical was easily the cheapest per watt. The install was quick and painless, the panels look great on the house. Ted answered all my questions quickly and guided the process smoothly. I'll be recommending them to everyone who will listen.

DON’T DO IT! Terrible experience for myself and wife, however it didn’t start that way. This also seems to be the experience for everyone that has spoke up about their experience with ION solar in the Wimberly estates edition located near sw 29th and Morgan in OKC. Between the initial install day followed by multiple visits to fix issues from the install day. All of these trips delayed the time of the inspection request going to OG&E and approval request to the city of Oklahoma City. This process started in April. 4 months ago!!! It is now August and we still do not having working solar panels. Instead thousands of dollars worth of equipment sitting around doing nothing. Now we have paid two months of payments to the finance company without the panels ever actually being completely hooked up. Apparently it doesn't matter that we still do not have a functional system, payments will begin 60 days afterwards regardless of the status of panels actually functioning. Seems this would be a break of contract as a service was paid for and not delivered on the sellers end. This was supposed to be completed months ago. There has also been multiple scheduled appointments that myself or my wife have made sure one of us was available for and at the house just for no one to ever show up. From the initial sales pitch to first day install made it all sound great and that it was gonna be a quick smooth deal. Then that seems to hit a wall. Now communication with ION has gone down hill. This all seems like one of those too good to be true situations. I was gonna be more than happy to refer people dependent on our experience. However now I am actively warning all others I come in contact with to avoid the headaches and DO NOT go with ION solar due to our experience. Or honestly any solar company for that matter currently in Oklahoma due to the incompetence to properly schedule a complete install in coordination with the proper inspections with the jurisdiction of the install. There has already been several news stories over similar cases here locally showing this is a frequent problem with solar companies. Instead of fixing the issue they stick the customers with an essentially doubled electrical bill if not more, between their regular electrical bill plus the finance bill for the solar panels. Instead of making it a smooth financial transition. We have reached out to the finance department and pretty much been told sorry about your luck with no help there. We will be looking at reaching out to some sort of legal representation on possible options for the fact a service is not being provided that was sold to us. BUYER beware.

How do I begin? Amber, Ashley, and Rick are absolutely awesome! My experience with them has been absolutely incredible so far! However, I am still in the middle of installation. I will update this post when the install ion is complete and after a couple months. For now, I highly recommend them!!
